Sinigang Salmon

I normally have this dish when my mom or dad cooks it on winter nights. I’m a very big fan of soups and this sour soup hits the spot every time. My husband loves this dish as well so we have this at least 3times a month.

I cook this dish with pork ribs or fresh salmon, both delicious.

Ingredients :

1 large fresh salmon steak or 1/2 pound pork ribs.
1/2 bunch spinach
2 tomatoes
1 whole brown onion
1 bunch long beans
1/2 green papaya
1 bunch broccoli
1 package tamarind sinigang mix
5 cups water

Prep.

Wash all your veggies well first. cut the tomatoes into halves and the onion. In a medium size pot, put 5 cups of water and put the tomatoes into the pot, and turn the heat up.

Cut the long beans into 1/4 long pieces, break apart the broccoli. Remove the skin from the papaya cut in half and slice the papaya thin, then cut in quarters.

Place all the veggies into a separate bowl.
Let the water boil for about 20 minutes on high, then pour in the packet – let that boil for another 5 minutes.

Next place the papaya and long beans in the pot and let it cook for 5 minutes on medium. Then put in the salmon and cook for another 5 minutes. Next put in the broccoli and turn off the heat, let it rest for 15 minutes.

When your ready to eat, heat it up just a little and in a large bowl place two handful of spinach at the bottom and pour the soup on top.

Serve with white rice and enjoy!

Thank you for reading, happy eatting.
