Drunken noodles

Noodles Drunk? This is one of my favorite recipe that my husband made for me one day and I learned how to make it 😛 
It’s hearty, healthy and Hot!!  If you love chow fun or any noodle dish, I know you love this one. The only thing  that takes time is the prep work, so make sure you put on some good music, have your glass of wine next to you and start prepping.


1 Package of flat rice noodles ( Get the sheet noodles and cut yourself ) I make square shapes
1 Chicken breast, sliced thin or sliced rib eye
1 package of button mushrooms
2 roma tomatoes
1 bunch of thai basil
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 shallot, minced or you can use yellow onion
1 teaspoon of hot chili oil
1/4 cup oyster sauce
2 teaspoons fish sauce
1 dash of brown sugar
2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or evoo
Wooden spoon
1 cup of love 🙂


First slice all your veggies, mushrooms, tomatoes, garlic, shallot and pick all the basil leaves on the stems and set aside.

Next slice your chicken breast or your rib eye into thin slices and set in a separate container.

Now your ready to start cooking.
Get your wok very hot and put in about 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil or evoo, toss in your garlic and shallots for about 1 minute, don’t burn them just lightly cook them.  Put in a dash of sugar and the oyster sauce and mix it in very well.  Let that cook for about 1 minute and add your chicken into the wok. Toss the chicken in very well with the sauce, and make sure it’s all soaked in.  Chicken breast is very fast to cook so it should take about 4 minutes to 5 minutes to cook, once it’s cooked, remove it from the wok and place it in a bowl. 

Next add a dash of the sauce that was in the chicken into the wok and turn the heat on high, toss the mushrooms and let it cook.  It will take at least 5 minutes to cook the mushrooms.  Stir them around so they get cooked thoroughly.  Once they are cooked, put in your tomatoes, chicken and  fish sauce and hot chili oil and give it a quick toss for about 30 seconds then add your basil and noodles and turn the heat off, put the noodles in one handful at a time, don’t throw the whole bowl in it, you will want to fold the noodles into the chicken and veggies.  Wala! your finished.

Plate this dish immediately and pair it with a nice martini or glass of wine.
